Saturday preview

Newcastle managed to do everything but score in their last game against Crystal Palace and Joe Willock was involved in many of their chances.

With fellow central midfielders Bruno Guimaraes, Sean Longstaff and Joelinton mainly concerned with the more defensive side of play or play, Willock is Newcastle’s main late runner in the box.

The 23-year-old netted eight times two seasons ago and looks to be finding some of that form again.

Willock has an expected 1.4 goals without finding the net this season and the 9-2 about him against the team with the most slippery defense in the division seems overpriced.

In the same match, the Magpies can use Ryan Fraser’s pace to exploit Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith.

The Cherries defender has already been booked four times this season and while he can avoid diving against Fraser, his likely replacement Elliot Anderson is also a tricky customer. The 11-4 about Smith being shown a map is interesting.

Much has been made of Heung-Min Son’s slow start to the new campaign, but his style of play could be particularly suited to take on Saturday’s Leicester opponents.

His, and by extension Spurs’ attack, are often the most effective on the counter-attack and that’s where the Foxes have looked most vulnerable this season.

Spurs’ tally of 15 direct attacks leading to a shot is the most in the league and Son has the most expected goals – 1.9 – without finding the net. The 6-4 on the striker smashing his duck for the campaign is worth taking.

However, the South Korean is also blossoming as a creative force, registering 27 assists over the past three seasons. Son is Tottenham’s leading free-kick taker and Leicester’s expected 2.56 goals in such situations is second in the league.

The chances of 4-1 on an assist from Son look great against a poor Leicester defense which looks particularly vulnerable to counter-attacking and set-piece situations.
