Match Preview

Lancashire have won three of their last four clashes with Yorkshire in the T20 Blast but they could be overpowered by their Roses rivals in Friday’s Group North game at Old Trafford.

Yorkshire will be hit with international call-ups over the next two weeks so they will be hoping to get their Blast campaign off to a good start before Joe Root and Harry Brook join the England Test squad and overseas stars Haris Rauf and Shadab Khan head in service in Pakistan.

They came out of the traps with a seven-wicket win over Worcestershire on Wednesday as thrilling young batsman Brook netted an unbeaten 60 from 27 balls.

Fly-half Adam Lyth and Dawid Malan, who put 70s in Headingley’s win, and England spinners Adil Rashid and Dom Bess bring extra quality to the Yorkshire side and they can see Lancashire, who are hoping for stars from the IPL Liam Livingstone and Tim David available.
