cfu 276 has arguably the strongest card of 2022 with two title fights set to end overnight at T-Mobile Arena.
Middleweight champion Israel Adesanya headlines against number two Jared Cannonier, while Alexander Volkanovski puts his featherweight belt on the line against number one Max Holloway in the co-main.
Adesanya has been untouchable in the middleweight division – his only career loss came when he took on Jan Blachowicz for the lightweight belt – and despite Cannonier’s career-ending push, the Nigerian is expected to retain gold.
It’s all or nothing for Cannonier on his first and likely last shot at a title, but he doesn’t appear to be on Adesanya’s level, which is evident in his loss to Robert Whittaker at cfu 254.
Adesanya took the title from Whittaker at cfu 243 and beat the Aussie for the second time when last seen in February.
He has 15 wins by knockout or technical knockout in 23 fights and is yet to seal his legacy with another in Las Vegas.
The co-main is extremely difficult to call as Volkanovski and Holloway meet for the third time, having gone twice the distance.
Volkanovski won both of those contests by decision, although many argue Holloway was unlucky not to get the nod in their second fight, and the feeling is we could be set for another 25 minutes of high level action.
Holloway has earned two Fight of the Night bonuses since his back-to-back losses to Volkanovski and the value is in his decision victory.
Finally, the exciting Sean O’Malley is back in action as he looks to move up the rankings in the bantamweight division at the expense of Pedro Munhoz.
Munhoz has lost two in a row and won just one win in his last five trips to the octagon, while O’Malley has won his last three and has 11 KO/TKO wins in 16 contests.
